The Future

In the future, I think photography will be more advanced in several ways. It will be easier to access and more different than a point and shoot camera. If an artist has a voice about something that can make a HUGE difference in future generations, then it's always important to consider one's voice. In order to stay "fresh," an artist has to consider what's popular in that time period and make it extraordinary and bold in order to please costumers buying the camera or piece of art work.

Color Shoot (Red)

For my shoot, I started out with taking of the first things that popped into my head, that were red of course. I went around my neighborhood and used objects in my house. I also went to a car lot and a barn in Clarksville, Indiana. I wanted to explore and get out of my confort zone so I tried something different and left the premises of Noblesville. I used different angles and different lighting to portray rules of composition. I used mostly "get close" because that's personally my favorite. Usually I will use zoom on my camera, or I'll hold the camera really close to the subject. I chose a barn because even though it's a cliche "red barn," I enjoyed the thrilling experience of running through someones property to take a picture of their barn. I incorporated voice by choosing more cliche red subjects, just because I'm a bit too mainstream. Through this assignment, I was able to uncover hidden beauty in a old barn. Not just the barn, but other subjects as well. I felt like a had some more strengths than weaknesses. I struggled finding subjects, but succeeded at taking the pictures using different elements and techniques we've learned in class. I would've changed my color, I found it a little difficult to find red subjects.

ISO Reflection

Shutter Speed/Motion Reflection

I realized that alot of my pictures I took focus on sports. I went to places that I thought would involve activity, including Lucas Oil Stadium, my neighborhood ect. I set up my scene by double checking and making sure there wasn't any distractions in the scene before I took my pictures. I incorporated rules of composition by using rule of thirds and get close. I also used color and use of backgrounds. I chose the Colt's football players as my subject because I thought it was fun and unique. I incorporated my voice by getting out of my comfort zone and trying new things. This assignment helped me view my world differently by really being able to see up close using my camera and how so much different it is from my eyesight since I'm blind as a bat! I definitely excelled in getting clear pictures, but it was a struggle to take pictures with blurry backgrounds especially since I'm not used to looking at pictures with blurry backgrounds! If anything, I would have more subjects for each of my folders.

Depth of Field

I took pictures of nature and some things I treasure including my guitar (below), a golf course and a lacrosse field. I went to these places around my neighborhood and Noblesville and Carmel because that's where mostly raw things are and they are great subjects to take pictures of. I set up my scene for the picture below by laying it down on the grass in my yard and started snapping away.

With my use of close up, I was able to make emphasis in my pictures and was able to see some of the texture of my objects like the strings on my guitar. I incorporated lots of color as well.

As my subject matter, I used my guitar. I incorporated my voice as a musician and my love for music for this picture. It helped me view nature as a whole differently; nature is a beautiful and doesnt get enough credit as many teenagers are on their electronics instead of looking at the world around them.

My strengths were taking the landscapes just because they were easier to focus with a camera. My weakness might have been taking close ups because most of them were blurry at first. Something I would've changed about this assignment would be having alot more patience with taking a close up picture.

The Purpose of a Camera

The purpose of a camera, in my opinion, is to catch something during that exact moment. Time never stops, and the world around us will never stop changing. Things can drastically change in just little of 30 seconds. If we catch a specific moment with our camera, we are able to examine the world around us, and you're able to look back at it, and refer back to it. With our eyes, we can't necessarily "refer" back to a specific moment because things are constantly changing.

The Seven Characteristics of Creative Thinking

Seven Characteristics of Creative Thinking
1. Receptivity - Be open to new ideas; welcome new experiences.
It's always refreshing to experience receptivity because the same routine is boring.
2. Attentiveness - Every experience is potentially valuable.
You only have one life, value every detail that you experience in life.
3. Conviction - Tenaciously pursue an independent path.
I disagree, I feel life is so much interesting and fun when your conquering it with someone else.
4. Curiosity - Research unusual topics; analyze unfamiliar systems.
It's not necessary bad to be curious, people are all guilty of snooping.
5. Wide Range of Interests - With more components, the number of combinations increase.
Having variety is a necessity.
6. Seeking Connections - See the similarity between disparate parts.
Comparing and making connections can help a person not only learn but be successful.
7. Complexity - Combine the irrational with the intuitive.
Everyone experiences some type of difficulty in their lifetime; it's inevitable. But these difficult times can help make an individual so much stronger.

Thought On Wolfgang

What are your personal thoughts about what he did?
I personally think that what Wolfgang did was genius. If he has the talent and ability to make replicas of famous paintings then he deserves to make the money. If you work hard for something, you derserve to get something out of it.

What is someones role in this world if they are gifted with an genius like talent?
Their role is to make themselves known. Some people like to keep their talents hidden. However, if it changes the way you look at the world then it's necessary to know. It'll be so much more worth it in the long run.

If you were gifted with one genius quality talent what would you wish it were...  and what would you do with that talent?
I would show everyone as soon as possible. Via social media or just telling someone face to face. If your known for something that's genius it could build upon your reputation for the better.

As an artist, this picture influences my voice by showing that I love to have a center piece. I enjoy giving people something to look at. It makes the image more interesting.
4. If you were the artist, what would you change if anything at all?
I took this picture, however I would definitely try a new angle.

Photography

My expectations of this photography class is to be able to have fun with doing something that I love. I love taking pictures, and my Instagram is filled with them. I am taking this class for fun, however I can definitely see myself taking photography AP in the future. As a student, I would call myself a person that usually stays on task. If you give me something to do the entire time I'll get it done. The only worry I have is that I need things to be explained thoroughly or I'll be extremely confused. I'm a visual learner. I like to look at examples of things, and it's hard for me to take things into my own hands. If you tell me to do a project, with the requirements, and tell me to make the project however I want, I'll probably struggle a little. It will be kind of difficult to be creative by myself. My goal in this class is to be able to be creative on my own by doing something I enjoy.
